On 7/18/12, at approximately 10:45 PM, 17th District officers responded to a radio call of a Robbery in Progress at 20xx Catherine Street. Upon their arrival they were met by the complainant who was later interviewed at SDD. The complainant stated while walking home in the 2000 block of Catherine Street she was approached from behind by an unknown black male who grabbed her on her right side and tackled her to the ground; once on the ground she was punched in the face by this male. She states that the male was trying to get her purse that was on her shoulder, but because she was on the ground and laying on it, he couldn’t get it. She screamed for help and the male fled on foot east on Catherine Street and north on 20th Street.
